1. Written forums and Galleries

1.1 We appreciate freedom of speech is important however the written forums and galleries are not to be used to post any material which is abusive, defamatory, false, harassing, hateful, inaccurate, invasive, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, vulgar, or otherwise in violation of any law.

1.2 The forums and galleries do not pertain to offer advice on any subject matter. Any information that is posted is the responsibility of the person/s publishing, and Base4* will not attempt to validate the accuracy completeness or usefulness of any information presented. The messages express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of Base4.

1.3 Base4 reserve the right to amend/remove any objectionable content including, but not limited to, potential privacy/security breaching material. Objectionable content will be amended/removed from anywhere on the website within a reasonable time frame. This is a manual process, however, so please realise that we may not be able to remove or edit particular content immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well as forum posting.

1.4 Unsolicited e-mail, mass e-mail advertisements, chain letters and selling schemes are also deemed inappropriate use of this forum.

1.5 Those who feel that a posted image or text is objectionable are encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of the community immediately.

1.6 Note that although we have moderators who monitor the forums, it is impossible for us to confirm the validity of posts within the galleries and written forums. Please remember that we cannot actively monitor the posted images and text messages at all times of the day and night and are not responsible for published content.

1.7 As a member, you remain solely responsible for the content of your text messages and images, and you agree to take full responsibility for any consequences of your contributions.

1.8 It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information we deem inaccurate or vulgar will be removed. We also ask that members take care with spelling, grammar and abbreviations when posting to ensure courtesy towards other members. The integrated spell checking software will assist members with this.

1.9 Base4 accept no responsibility for plagiarized work and/or infringement of any copyright or trademark. Please make sure where applicable, you have established copyright permission for any materials used.

1.10 You acknowledge that all posts made on the forums express the views and opinions of the author and not Base4, hence Base4 will not be held liable.

2. Data Protection and Privacy

2.1 We may decide at some point to collect personal information from you on a voluntary basis in order to improve this service. All information will remain strictly for the sole use of Base4 and will not be divulged to any third party without your consent.

2.2 As a user you agree that any information you submit may be stored in electronic password protected databases. Base4 cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

2.3 We do track Users IP addresses; this information is used for our own records as well as providing a "last resort" method of suspending/banning members that are in major violation of this agreement.

2.4 We may also from time to time contact you directly through means by which you have provided (e.g. E-mail). This may be to offer you news about new products and services or any special offers.

2.5 We reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any information we have about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from your membership to Base4art.

2.6 For your protection and for validity reasons, you agree to never give your password out to another member or non-member. You also agree to never use another member's account to participate within the community in any way.

3. Browser Software Settings

3.1 Our forums require that cookies are enabled within your browser software. Our software uses cookies to improve website usability and not to collect personal information or any other information which could be used to identify you.

4. Memberships

4.1 Your membership enables you to enjoy the great benefits of Base4art. Base4 reserve the right to vary the terms and conditions of membership including the withdrawal of a particular membership in the future. All members will be notified by e-mail at least 14 days in advance of any withdrawal of service. Where a member has paid in advance for a subscription service and this service is subsequently withdrawn whilst their subscription is still active, the member will be entitled to a pro rata refund of any remaining months.

4.2 Individuals are only allowed one active account at any one time. Any individual found to possess more than one active account will have all accounts deactivated except the last registered account. Any subscription privileges and/or stored information within the deactivated accounts including, but not limited to, private messages and Mana ratings will be lost.

4.3 'FREE for life' membership accounts are active for the life of the Base4art websites. Members are under no obligation to upgrade to any paid subscription service. Free membership provides limited functionality of some subscription services offered by Base4art and as such Base4 does not guarantee any technical or support services for free members. In the event of a free membership account laying dormant for a protracted amount of time (i.e. more than 12 months) the account in question will then be subject to deactivation or termination. Base4 reserve the right to withdraw free membership sign-up at any time.

4.4 Members are urged to upgrade any active account rather than registering another (which would contravene paragraph 4.2). Where a subscription package does not meet the needs of the individual, contact should be made with the Base4art team to discuss special service arrangements.

4.5 When an account upgrade/downgrade takes place all prior membership privileges cease upon taking out the new subscription; at that point forward all new subscription privileges apply. All stored information and data including login credentials are preserved during the process of an account upgrade. Some stored data (e.g. Gallery images) may be lost during an account downgrade if this exceeds new account privileges (e.g. disk space quota). Account downgrades automatically occur once a subscription expires. It is up to the individual to maintain their subscription status. Base4 will not be held responsible for any loss of data during an account downgrade.

5. Conclusion

5.1 You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately or permanently banned from our communities. You agree that Base4 have the right to delete, edit, move or close any forum, gallery and/or its content at any time, for any reason.

5.2 By accepting (clicking the 'Agree' button) these terms and conditions, you agree not to intend any harm to the community or its members, or any other services provided by Base4.
