What do I have to consider when I prepare an image for uploading

The main consideration when preparing images for uploading is to minimize its disk space size, without jeopardizing the visual quality. Sharpening of the image is advisable after it has been re-sized Please refer to your graphics or image making program manuals for instructions on the best techniques on how to achieve these.



How do I place a comment about an image

This feature is open to certain membership types. If you are able to post comments about images, an 'add your comments' box will appear under the image once it has been selected.



How can I create my own gallery

Each time you upload an image into a forum, the image is also stored within 'my gallery'. This gallery is personal to you, and can only be viewed by you. To access your personal gallery, click the 'my gallery' button in the top left hand side of the page.



How do I create my own album

From the gallery home page, click 'album admin'. Click the 'add album' button, and fill in the relevant fields then click 'add album'. Use the generated password to access the album, or the 'http' link underneath the main album link for access.



Can I copy images from the website

Yes you can. You right click on the image and select 'save as' from the context menu.



How can I ensure that other members cannot post images in my gallery space

Your gallery space is only accessible by yourself. Private albums also cannot be seen by other community members.



How do I manage the administration of my gallery area

There several useful links in the gallery which allow you to successfully manage the administration of your gallery space.

After logging in and then browsing to the gallery you should be able to see the following links on the main menu,
  • Profile
  • Upload Photos
  • My Photos
The 'Profile' link provides useful information about how many pictures are in your gallery and any pending photo notifications. Within this area you can also manage any galleries to which you have subscribed.

The 'Upload Photo' link provides more in-depth technical information and statistics about your account, under the 'User File Limits' section.

The 'My Photos' link is useful if you want to browse your photo gallery. By selecting a piece of your work you can then carry out maintenance such as editing photo information or deleting* a picture.


*NB - Once a photo is deleted it cannot be retrieved; please exercise caution when using this administration option.
