(see this users gallery) Images are created by a cut and paste process, sampling imagery from art history and popular culture to create ambiguous paintings based around pictorial representations of birth, death, sex and faith. The process of making these images involves initially working on a computer to manipulate collages and drawings. These studies are then projected onto board and painted in a variety of media including oil, acrylic, spray-paint, enamel and household gloss. The paintings are built up in layers creating surfaces of contrasting texture, finish and style. |
